Big Truck Accident

Motor vehicle accidents between cars can cause significant personal injury; however, when one or more of the vehicles involved in the accident is a tractor trailer (big-rig truck), the damages can be catastrophic.

Why do big-rig truck accidents happen? Oftentimes, tractor-trailer accidents occur simply due to the nature of a large truck — they cannot accelerate, maneuver, or decelerate the way a passenger car does. Other reasons include:

  • Inexperienced Driver

  • Distracted Driver

  • Tired Driver

  • Driver on Drugs or Alcohol

  • Lack of Proper Brake Maintenance

  • Lack of Proper Safety Devices (reflectors, lights, etc.)

  • Speeding

  • Overweight Trucks

  • Poor Weather Conditions

  • Insufficient Federal Safety Inspection
