Water Accidents

Water crashes involving any type of watercraft can have lifelong ramifications ranging from serious injuries and permanent disabilities, to the tragic loss of a loved one. Water sport accidents can be just as devastating as boating collisions. Drownings, near-drownings, and debilitating injuries can result from activities such as:

  • Waterskiing

  • Wakeboarding

  • Jet skiing

  • Tubing

  • Scuba diving and snorkeling

  • Parasailing

  • Paddle boarding

  • Canoeing

  • Kayaking

  • Swimming and diving

Water Park Negligence

Water parks and amusement parks will often claim that an injury event was simply a “freak accident,” and that there were no faults with the attraction in question.  In reality, water park injuries are more frequently caused by factors such as improper maintenance, lax supervision, and poor design of water park attractions.  These factors can lead to drowning, submersion injuries, and tragically, wrongful death. Many parks fail to keep their equipment in proper and safe operating condition through regular maintenance. They lack supervision, and/or fail to properly hire or train staff members in an effort to cut costs.

Fall accidents can cause death or result in serious injuries when surfaces at these parks are slippery and have not been treated with non-skid materials.

Some injuries that can occur include:

  • Bone Fractures

  • Skull Fractures

  • Spinal Cord Injuries

  • Paraplegia

  • Quadriplegia

  • Chest or Heart Injuries

  • Neck Injuries

  • Back Injuries

  • Crush Fractures

  • Drowning
