Northfield Man Dies After Ambulance Cot Tips

NORTHFIELD, Ohio - A 81-year-old patient who was on a stretcher that tipped over has died.
The Northfield Fire Department said crews responded to a medical emergency on Cambridge Drive on March 26. While paramedics were moving the patient from the house to the ambulance, the cot tipped over causing him to injury his head.
He was taken to Hillcrest Hospital and later died.
He’s been identified as 81-year-old Charles Borton. he cause of death is under investigation by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
